Why you should Never Lay your Eggs in 1 Digital Nest

Why you should Never Lay your Eggs in 1 Digital Nest

Even if everyone’s on Facebook,

Even if the young generation digs Tiktok,

And even if you read an article that Youtube is here to stay,

There’s no one, and we repeat, one reason you should focus your digital presence on one social platform.

Why is that? Because even though the digital marketing field is relatively fresh, we still have quite a few lessons that can last for decades.

Anything can Change in a Blink of an Eye

Anything can Change in a Blink of an Eye

Remember Snapchat? How about the convenient old days of MySpace? Heard about Google+?

All of those networks were big, considered as solid candidates, and now – No one hears about them, even though both of them belong to two of the most formidable companies out there: Microsoft and Google.

Microsoft was a great place for musicians and people who wanted to stay in touch, but as soon as Facebook got ahead, the gap was unbeatable. Google+ tried its best but never succeeded in launching, and all of those tales happened in a matter of a few weeks and even less than that.

Oh, wait – What about Snapchat? The answer waits in the next paragraph.

Being Competitive in a Digital World is a Major Risk
Digital Synapse

Snapchat had it all: The title of the most popular app for youngsters in the US amongst other countries, exclusive features of stories and funny filters, and more. That utopia came to an end when Facebook didn’t like what’s going on, and when Snapchat disagreed with being bought for 5 billion dollars, the heavy cannons came out.

Stories were released for Instagram, Facebook, Messenger, and Whatsapp at a fantastic pace, making Snapchat almost obsolete by copying its grand features (The CEO of Instagram even admitted it was pure takeover). So, you can have a great social channel to use, but hey – If Facebook doesn’t like it, you should have other places to go.

No one Owes you Anything

Many people tend to think that Facebook and other companies are obliged to keep your profile and page up and running, but the truth can’t be further than that. Millions of users and business pages were banned without prior warning, without any ability to turn the tides back. So why should you risk years of work go to waste because you want to save some spare time?

Audiences

Audiences

Sure, there are some social networks where you can find almost every audience that’s considered profitable, but in the end – Different audiences prefer different social networks. Focusing on one of those platforms is basically ignoring other potential sales and leads – And why would you do that?
