Terms of use

These cover the website. The work we do for clients runs under a separate signed agreement, and nothing on this page changes what that agreement says.

01 What these terms cover

Using this website means these terms apply to you. They cover reading the site, downloading what we publish, sending us a form and running the free tools.

They do not cover paid work. Scope, price, ownership of deliverables, confidentiality and anything else about a project live in the proposal and contract we sign with you. Where the two disagree about paid work, the signed agreement wins.

02 Using the site

Read it, quote it, send it to a colleague. What we ask you not to do:

We allow AI crawlers on this site by name, including the ones that train models. That is a deliberate choice and it is set out in our robots.txt. It does not hand over copyright in anything.

03 The writing and the code

The articles, page copy, design and code of this site belong to Synapse Research Ltd unless a page says otherwise. Product names and logos that are not ours belong to whoever owns them.

You may quote a passage with a visible credit and a working link back. You may not republish a whole article, put it behind your own signup, or feed it through a rewriter and publish the result as your own.

04 What we do not promise

We sell search and growth work, so this matters more here than it would elsewhere. Nothing on this website is a promise of a ranking, an AI citation, a traffic number or a sale. Search engines and answer engines decide that, they change how they decide it, and anyone who guarantees a position is selling you something they do not control.

The articles are our reading of the evidence on the date shown. They are not legal, financial or tax advice. The posts about pricing policy in particular describe how such policies are usually run, and they are no substitute for a lawyer in your own market.

We try to keep the site accurate and correct it when it is wrong, which is written down in the editorial policy. We do not promise that the site is available without interruption.

05 The free tools

The instant audit and anything like it are given as they are. They fetch a URL you give us, score what they find, and show you the result. Running one means you are telling us you have the right to have that URL analysed.

A score from a free tool is a starting point for a conversation. It is not an engagement, and we may rate limit or withdraw a tool at any time.

We link out to primary sources on purpose, because a claim you cannot check is worth little. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for what they say or do after we link to them.

07 Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss you suffer from relying on this website, from it being unavailable, or from anything you reach through a link on it. Our work for clients is covered by the contract for that work.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

08 Privacy

What the site collects and who processes it is set out in theprivacy policy and thecookie policy. Both are part of these terms.

09 Changes

We can change these terms. The date at the top moves when we do, and the version you accepted for a signed piece of work is the one in that contract.

10 Law and courts

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel. The competent courts in Tel Aviv-Yafo have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from your use of this site.

If a clause on this page turns out to be unenforceable, the rest of the page still stands.
